Crafted from the pick of an elite parcel in the northern precinct of Wilyabrup, where the warmer maritime climes encourage vines to yield a precious harvest of elegantly statuesque Cabernet Sauvignon. The icon of the Devils Lair marque and a preeminent regional flagship, replete with impenetrably rich, blackberry lozenge fruit characters, framed by a veneer of ebony oak, lined with the most astonishingly silky tannins.

Langton's Exceptional Classification. Diana Madeline is one of Australia's great icon wines, crafted from fruit grown to one of Margaret River's earliest sites. The vines, planted in 1971, provide a scant two tons per acre, yielding grapes of amazing concentration. Cullen have returned to the old world practice of basket pressing. To their delight, they have found that this leads to the extraction of only the finest tannins. A stately construct in statuesque Bordeaux styling, deeply coloured, the extraordinary depth of flavour reflects an outstanding quality of fruit.

Exceptional Langtons Classification. This is one of the great years for Diana Madeline. The outstanding quality reflects a combination of excellent seasonal conditions that existed for all red grape varieties during the lead up to vintage 2007 and the benefits of employing the most exacting biodynamic practices. The requisite Medoc cepage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot, for a wine of imposing stature, eminence and grace.

The noble Bordeaux cepage of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, assembled into a deep dark brooding wine, rich yet approachable, alluringly aromatic yet substantial in palate and structure. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc contribute strength while Merlot softens the palate. Bursting with fragrant aromas of luscious berry fruits, lightly oaked but solidly fruit driven. Cowrock is endowed with softly textured tannins which provide seamless structure, playing a supportive role to a well proportioned and deeply satisfying wine.

From the dry grown, organically farmed Calgardup vineyard, just two kilometres inland from Redgate Beach. An essential part of the making requires a fastidious sorting of fruit, every grape has to pass the test, before being added to a large French oak vat for a course of natural indigenous yeast ferments. Followed by a term in seasoned barriques to retain the primacy of fruit. Designed to express the pristine and vibrant coastal climes, Corymbia actually tastes of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape, the dirt and the sea without pretention, Margaret River at its most eloquent and most vibrant.

Margaret River makes mighty Cabernet but Clairault make a priority of gentle winemaking. Parcels are cannily crushed so that each berry is only, barely just split, affording the ferments minimal berry degradation, encouraging the retention of fresh, clean varietal Cabernet characters in the finished wine. Vinified on skins for optimal extraction and treated to a timely ten months in nothing but the finest French oak, a vivid articulation of Margaret River Cabernet, brimming with dark blue currants and cassis, its refined minerality resolving on a refreshing glace cherry finish.

Clairault Estate is situated approximately ten kilometres south of Yallingup, within the superior Wilyabrup dress circle of Margaret River. The property contains four dams, forty hectares of grazing land and eighty of remnant bush. The vineyard itself has been cultivated with a commitment to local flora and fauna, it yields harvests of small but intensely flavoured grapes. Merlot and Petit Verdot are assembled around a solid backbone of Cabernet Sauvignon, a stately wine of penetrating bramble fruit characters and refined, tensile tannins.

Clairault are all about taking care of the little things to build a much greater wine, vineyards are all managed like a wildlife sanctuary and the vinifcations are treated as gently as one can. Berries must be only barely split, to iintroduce just the right amount of tannin while retaining a press of the purest juices. The most exquisite parcels Cabernet Sauvignon, a touch of Cabernet Franc for interest and finesse, are delicately fermented before eighteen months of age in an extravagantly high proportion of new French oak, the fruit of Margaret River at its finest, graceful and most eloquent.

Celestial Bay is the achievement of Michael and Kim O'Brien's long standing passion for wine, an adventure which led them to the Margaret River region in search of property most suitable for viticulture. The perfect location was identified on Metricup Road in Wilyabrup. A former dairy farm, the site provides all the necessary requirements, good soil, a moderate maritime climate and reliable rainfall. Zinfandel is a particularly challenging variety to manage in the vineyard and winery. Introduced to Cape Mentelle via cuttings from California, vines were planted in 1974 to a ridge of free draining lateritic gravel on an east west orientation to minimise the affects of strong westerly sea breezes. This capricious, low density bush vine site requires fastidious attention to detail. A rich, hedonistically dimensional effort makes all the hard work worthwhile and as such has developed something of a cult following among enthusiasts of bold red wines.

The topical cepage of Cabernet and Merlot enhanced by the inclusion of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The majority of fruit is harvested from the elite Estate and Kyella, Chapman Brook and Crossroads vineyards. Smaller amounts come from a number of long term growers located within the eminent Wallcliffe and Karridale sub districts. Trinders seeks to capture the charm of the noble Bordeaux varietal mix, grown to the salubrious microclimes along Margaret River, to craft enduring, muscular wines in a fully approachable, modern styling.

Cape Mentelle draws inspiration from the tasty red styles of Vallée du Rhône. Fruit is treated to an old world style of vinification, aimed at retaining all the well defined Margaret River fruit characters, along with the more savoury, spicy elements of the vineyard. Growing season 2008 was quickly recognized by industry pundits as a great vintage year, yielding red wines of excellent tannin structure and exquisite length. The archetypal Margaret River Shiraz, endowed with alluring bouquets, a dense palate and ripe, gripping tannins.

An assemblage of Shiraz from the estate Foxcliffe and Kayella vineyards, fashioned into a style which draws inspiration from the timeless classics of la Vallee Rhône. The wine is treated to the most extravagant techniques, a complete destemming, cold soaking, and a traditional vinification. Aged in a mix of large oak vats and small barriques to retain the refined fruit and floral characters along with the more savoury, spicy elements derived from the vineyard. Marmaduke is a fruit forward, soft and spicy red wine, offering a mouth filling palate of juicy cherry and black berry flavours, pepper and dusty spice, over a support of firm yet hospitable tannins, the distinctive hallmarks of refined yet approachable Margaret River Shiraz.

It was in 1881 that a fine gentleman by the name of Daniel McGregor paid 62 pounds and 2 shillings for a Crown Grant of a hundred acres. The yearly rent for Sussex Location 165 on the fertile banks of Willyabrup Brook was a single peppercorn paid each year on the 25th March, or soon thereafter as demanded. In the 1980s it was replanted to vines and today is one of the Margaret River's most inestimable sites for first growth Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon. A long lived wine of luxury and complexity, drinking superbly upon release.

Brookland Valley Estate made a conspiuous impression through their stirling efforts at Cabernet Merlot when they claimed several significant trophies, including the hotly contested Qantas Best Wine of Show. Bunches are hand picked over the course of a fortnight as grapes achieve complete ripeness, fruit is gently plunged and treated to the extravagance of two years maturation in French oak barriques. A burst of currants and raspberry, cherries and plum, fine tannins, succulence and tremendous depth of flavour, Ashbrook drinks magnificently on release alongside all good fare.

Predominantly old vines Old Houghton clone Cabernet Sauvignon, hand picked off the original 1976 estate block at Wilyabrup. Bursting with red and black currant notes, vivid dark cherries and plum, leatheryness and violet, its comely perfumes of anise and cigar box precede a flood of fruit on the elegantly spiced oak palate, all supported by silky smooth, fine grained tannins. A wine of amazingly disciplined power and astonishing length, a measure of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc introduces wonderful complexity.

Three quarters Wilyabrup Old Cab and Young Cab clones, transplanted from the original Houghton Source Block in Valley Swan, the balance of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Selectively hand picked at vintage over the course of a month, gently plunged in open fermenters and matured two years in French oak barriques. A fully ripe red berry bouquet, cherry plum fruit leather and hints of cassis saturate the palate, fine grained tannins in support of a succulent, velvety mouthfeel, super premium oak imparts elegance, complexity and fragrant spice.

Located towards the northern reaches of Margaret River, where the invigorating ocean breezes form a unique microclime, Amberley produces wines with elegant flavours, solid structure and fine balance.
